Reconnect Family Programme

We can support a plan for safe reunification home and will assist the children and young people to rebuild bounds with their family

A designated staff member can provide a safe space to facilitate and encourage conversations between the child and family member or relevant other, to help rebuild relationships

Our programme focuses on three key areas:

Building bonds (between the child/young person and the family member or relevant other)

Signs and triggers (tailored to the individual child/young person)

The modern-day child (focusing on internal and external factors)

Our Focus

This programme offers a solution focussed intervention. We support the children and young people, family member and/or relevant other to set out their goals and how they wish to repair a fractured relationship. We go through the areas that require further development and mediate as discussions are held on what led to the breakdown, and where changes can be made, and how to sustain these changes. The overall aim, is for the children and young people, family member and/or relevant other to have a better understanding of the other, to explore how their actions impact the other, and formulate a plan to work together to positively move forward

To support the young person, we can offer support to talk with the family or relevant other, about the young person’s struggles and discus resources and tools used to appropriately navigate through these issues. The purpose of this, is to give the family member or relevant other an insight into the young person’s world and have the knowledge, skills and confidence to deal with these issues, if there is a plan for the young person to return home
