Additional Support

We strongly believe in children and young people taking control of their own lives and want to support them to identify aspects of their lives that are important to them and then to set achievable gaols

The young person’s independence living star covers eight outcome areas that allow the children and young people to think about how things are going and if there is anything they need a little extra help with

Where I live

Looking after myself

My health and well-being

Being treated with dignity

Making meaningful use of my time

My social circle

Managing my money

How I feel about my life

Theapeutic Service

Each young person who joins KayDee Homes will have access to our Flourish Programme which aims to raise the young person’s awareness of how negative thoughts feeling and behaviours can impact on emotional wellbeing and development. The programme is based on using cognitive behavioural therapy techniques and person-centred intervention, which are built into various worksheets used to provide support. Our aim is to help the young person enact change in negative thinking patterns and behaviours, thereby improving quality of life not by changing the circumstances in which the young people live, but by helping young people take control of their own perception of those circumstances
